End Corporate Greed

On October 3-7, 2015 the Georgian Trade Unions Confederation (GTUC) marks the World Day for Decent Work with the Decent Work Week thus joining the every yearly actions of the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC). On October 3, at 13.00, the Georgian Trade Unions Confederation (GTUC) will gather at the Rose Square in Tbilisi Centre and will march towards the building of the Parliament of Georgia, where protest actions are to take place. The GTUC will demand establishment of social justice, granting effective leverage to labour inspection, and pension and pay rise. The Trade Unions will highlight shortcomings of the labour legislation and importance of gender equality.
A decision to mark the Day for Decent Work every year on the first Saturday of October was made by the Georgian Trade Unions Confederation (GTUC) in 2008. Later, the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) established October 7 as the World Day for Decent Work. This year’ slogan for the Decent Work Week is “End Corporate Greed”.
